About the role:
The Technical Design Architect is partly and jointly responsible for developing the technical strategy for the Enterprise Network and Security and the framework providing technical solutions to new & existing customers based on solutions defined within the VCG Service Portfolio.#
Working with direct reports this role will be responsible for growing this business unit servicing the four primary functions, those being support services, professional services, pre-sales and strategy.
Due to the size of the team, there is an expectation within this role to continue to carry out consultancy and pre-sales work to ensure the commercial success of this business as it develops.
Critical to this success is to ensure VCG are actively engaging directly with our customers articulating the company’s technology and product portfolio, positioning to both business and technical users. The demands of this role are such that you should have a good technical knowledge, excellent customer facing skills and commercial awareness.
What You’ll Do:
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Developing technical strategy by staying up to date on industry trends and identifying new/emerging technologies/services
o Working with Sales to commercialise Service offerings.
o Providing Technical Pre-Sales support to the Sales team on the VCG portfolio.
- Work with the Professional Services Team to provide technical leadership and develop capability to underpin the technical strategy.
o Identifying training needs and plans for the Professional Services team aligned to core strategy
- Working with clients to identify and develop areas of opportunity where clients can benefit from VCG service offerings.
o Accurate capture of customer requirements and environments
o Developing client solutions using the VCG portfolio.
o Client meetings and presentations
o Commercial responsibility of the information provided to customers based on the equipment defined to meet the customer needs and the definition of implementation and on-going support services costs.
- To structure and produce compelling sales proposals/commercial and technical documentation outlining the business benefits and customer success requirements.
- As the Technical Design Architect you will develop and mentor colleagues across the group in respect of all things Enterprise Network, Security and Wireless.
- Work with Account Executives, Practice Leads, Service Delivery Managers, Principal Consultants, Senior Consultants and Project Services when developing proposed solutions
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality and Business Processes
- Maintaining and improving technically through certification, both on a personal and company level
Who You Are:
The successful candidate will have a material impact on how our customers value their investment with VCG by leveraging their investment to achieve their business outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving how VCG interact throughout the customer lifecycle, while identifying key adoption triggers and barriers.
Key Skills and Experience would include but not limited to:
- 3+ years working as a Pre-Sales Consultant or equivalent role
- Experience in designing LAN, WAN and Security architectures
- Strong interest in technologies focused on networks, security and wireless
- Previous experience of requirements gathering, design and solution building and the ability to replicate this in a commercial setting Strategic planning around commercial goals
- Ability to develop effective working relationships internally at a variety of levels and work closely with commercial departments such as sales, operations and Project Management Office
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strategic thinker, account management, and a strong commitment to customer success
- Proven team player and willingness to work closely with cross-functional partners
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with mentoring and developing other colleagues
- Experience in a customer-facing support environment
- Experience in working in an MSP environment
- Comfortable working with hosting technologies including Windows and Linux based server systems, network storage systems.
Qualifications:
Active CCIE in one of the following:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCIE Enterprise Networks)
- Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCIE Security)
- Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCIE DC)
Plus
- Fortinet Network Security Professional NSE4 or above
- Juniper certified network Associate (JNCIA)
